Aside from working my day job..I have a 5 year old and a 39 year old at home to take care of. Not to mention having my 2nd job doing data entry at night and on the weekend. I have 2 craft fairs quickly coming up that I have not nearly enough inventory for ~ and my most recent commitment, Girl Scout troop leader.
While everyone I talk to agree (myself included), that I am not the best role model for little 5 year old girls, lol - I do it because what the girls are supposed to learn, are things that I want my daughter to learn.
Stuff like being "honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what they say and do" as well as "respect for themselves and others, respect for authority, using resources wisely and making the world a better place"...taken right out of the Girl Scout Law. If I can get my daughter to learn qualities like this...then I know she will grow to be a pretty damn good woman (although I know she will be anyway!).
And then, maybe she can get caught up in her own over-commitments...aah, no rest for the weary.
